Ta̱mpi̱let:Metadata article count
This template is intended for Á̱na̱nwuai and only works there; the template can be inserted on the portal page or on corresponding category pages (Example: Sa:Ethnology).
The embedding of this template takes the article count for the category specified as the first parameter from an extensive list (table), for example, Portugal = 18801. This was previously determined by the bot Krdbot (weekly).
To add a new category, click "Edit Page" at the top and enter the category name (e.g., "Portugal") in the appropriate section according to the specified syntax. It will then be updated with the next update (see the instructions below).

It is recommended to format the output number using the Template:Formatnumberlocal:

Instructions
[jhyuk a̱tyin ka]The list of article counts updated weekly by Krdbot was and is only entered by users, so before using the template for the first time, you should check whether a corresponding entry already exists:

Recommendation: Article counts can also be usefully displayed on ngwat si̱sa (see Sa:Ethnology). For some categories, the article count can be calculated from the sum of the numbers of previously added subcategories. These can also be tested, or searched in the list: To do so, click on "Edit Page" at the top (or here) and search for corresponding entries. In some cases, numbers of previously added subcategories on corresponding portal pages may also be desired.
Enter a new category name:
If a new entry is desired, it must be created manually in the opened long list. However, this should only be done sensibly, as every category evaluation naturally places a load on the Wikipedia servers. The following procedure is recommended:
- The tool PetScan can determine the current article count for a category; to do so, type or copy the name into the input field.
- Then open the template page for editing, copy the entire line of any entry and paste it again (preferably in a thematically appropriate place), then overwrite the category name in the pasted line copy with the desired new one and replace the number after the equal sign with the number of articles determined by PetScan (unformatted). Instead of the search result from PetScan, you can also enter an estimated number, which will be updated by KrdBot after one week at the latest. Please do not overwrite the date behind it in the comment form, because Krdbot adjusts it regularly.
